Sorry about the lack of shading. I'm a mess without my tablet at present.

For Challenge 6 on Theme: Emotion
I chose ENVY Noun: A feeling of discontented or resentful longing aroused by someone else's possessions, qualities, or luck. Verb: Desire to have a quality, possession, or other attribute belonging to (someone else): "he envied tall people"; "I envy Jane her happiness".
I've had this idea in my head for a long time after seeing a Project Runway episode where I vaguely remember they had to produce a seven deadly sins look from jersey.
---
This is where I explain what it is: A draped, wrapped batwing dress in a shade of emerald. A singlet for modesty in linden green. Cinched with a deep lichen green and gold belt. Finished with low denier sheer pantyhose and ankle straped wedge heels in the same colour as the belt.
This is the bit where I try to explain what it's made from: As the original inspiration was jersey, I still feel like this material could work, with a heavier, high quality iteration of the fabric. The main thing is I feel like this look should look matte, as a daytime look. The singlet could either be in a thin weight jersey, maybe a cotton - not sure - but it is also the lining in the skirt of the dress.
This is the bit where I justify what I did: Envy starts as a innocent desire to have something you don't have, which is a positive to inspire you to work harder to obtain what you want. When this emotion truly takes over, you are wrapped up in your own thoughts, peeking out to only see more of what others have.
I designed the dress to wrap around the model, almost enveloping her with the batwing sleeves and layers of draping around her hips. The peeking out aspects of the dress are the lighter green areas, which aren't the same green to break up the sea of emerald, and to perhaps symoblize there is a way to stop being envious, as it hasn't taken over completely.
The belt was needed to keep the look chic, as anyone who's worn a batwing sleeve top knows it can make you look like a blob! The belt's in the same colour range, in a more muted shade, with the gold leaf for a pop of colour, and a hint of symbolism towards gold/wealth being one of those things we often desire.
The pantyhose are to keep it looking sophisticated - showing off the legs, but not
The shoes are in the same hue as the belt for consistency, and to give them a slight colour without taking the attention off the dress. Detail in the toe to echo the draping of the dress.
This is the bit where I explain "my girl": My girl is working in a creative office, no boring corporate in sight. She likes to look high maintenance, but is pushed for time so loves something easy to throw on. Today she has a presentation, so wants to be taken seriously (only legs showing, but wearing pantyhose, and little cleavage showing), but also wants to feel great (legs showing, and the cinched waist).
Colours used are: From the Pantone Fall 2013 Fashion Report Inspired by Emerald PMS 17-5641 (I had the dress in this colour originally, but it felt too turquiose) Linden Green PMS 15-0533 Deep Lichen Green PMS 18-0312 Carafe PMS 19-1116

I'm not a huge fan of batwing sleeves, but I really like the silhouette here. The draping on the dress is gorgeous and I'm always a sucker for a cinched waist.
Short version: if I saw it in a shop, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
Since green is my favourite colour I'm certainly drawn to your design Love the draping part which gives a nice shape to your girl and the green tones are gorgeous^^ Would love to see this one in real fabric
